Support the Preservation Trust and Garnethill Hebrew Congregation
Garnethill Synagogue Preservation Trust (GSPT) was set up in 2012 as a registered charitable organisation. It looks after the fabric of the building at Garnethill and acts as landlord for the Scottish Jewish Archive Centre and the Synagogue, as the major users of the building.
The building works in the 1990s guaranteed the survival of the building for many years to come. However, there is a constant requirement for maintenance, improvement, and renewal of such a historic and beautiful building. GSPT's role is to ensure that the brightness of this jewel of Scottish ecclesiastical architecture does not fade.
The Preservation Trust has also taken on a supervisory and maintenance interest in the Hebrew Congregation's cemetery and Grade B listed prayer house in Maryhill.
As charities, both the Garnethill Hebrew Congregation and the Garnethill Synagogue Preservation Trust rely to a large extent on donations. Though we are fortunate to have a vibrant and sustainable congregation that supports both charities, additional funds are always required on a year-on-year basis.
If you enjoyed your visit to the Synagogue, participated in a service, have a historic connection with the building, or simply wish to assist in the continued survival of such an important building and congregation, why not consider a donation towards one or both of our charities?
A donation to the Garnethill Hebrew Congregation will assist the continued provision of religious services at the Synagogue and help support the Hebrew Congregation in its payments to the Preservation Trust for the use of the building (in rent and upkeep)
